How the articles on this site get researched, written, and sourced.

Last updated: August 26, 2026

The Virtus blog answers training questions without filler. Here is how that work is done, so you can judge the articles on their process and not only on their conclusions.

1. How Articles Are Researched

  • Claims about physiology, nutrition, and supplementation are based on peer-reviewed research wherever possible, and sources are generally cited in the text by author and year so you can read them yourself.
  • Meta-analyses and reviews are preferred over single studies, and a small single trial is meant to be described as one.
  • Program guides aim to follow the original author's published specification, with deviations noted where they are made knowingly.
  • Where the evidence is unsettled, the goal is to say so rather than resolve it in favour of the more clickable side.
  • Articles are checked against their sources before publishing, and content written only to rank is cut when it is caught.

2. Where AI Is Used

AI tools assist with researching, drafting, structuring, and editing articles, and with producing the video guides. We would rather say that outright than let you guess.

Articles are not published straight from a model's output. Claims, numbers, doses, and references are reviewed against the study or the program specification they come from, and the conclusions and training recommendations are decided by a person.

Mistakes still happen. If anything here is wrong, a number, a recommendation, a reference, or a whole conclusion, email contact@virtusapp.ai and say what is wrong. When it is confirmed, the article text itself is rewritten to the correct version, a note is normally added at the point of the error saying what changed, and the article's updated date is set to the day of the fix. The aim is to never correct silently.

3. The Limits of This Advice

This is general educational information about training and nutrition. It is not medical advice and not a substitute for a professional who can assess you. With an injury, a medical condition, or medication, talk to a doctor before acting on anything you read here.
